       HISTORY OF      

 BEAVER CREEK 

  • The 18-hole Beaver Creek, formerly known as Beaver Hills Golf Club in Martinsville, Virginia features 6,119 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71.
  • The course rating is 68.1 and it has a slope rating of 108.  Designed by Ferdinand Garbin,  Beaver Creek opened in 1945. 
  • Beaver Creek golf course layout is comprised off Tohama 31 Bermuda greens and tees, while our fairways are a Transcontinental Bermuda/Fesque mixture. 
  • "Two Chimneys" stand where the original Beaver Creek pro shop stood. 
  • Past professionals at Beaver Creek included Bruce Gilbert, Tim Burton, Mike Jones, Andy and Eddie Sechrist, Brian Whitehead, and now James Draper. 
  • The Beaver Hills Invitational was a premier regional event that showcased many mini tour professionals and top regional talent.
  • Beaver Creek is home to the ANDREW HALEY MEMORIAL JUNIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT
  • Beaver Creek is home of the Patrick & Henry Community College and Bassett High School golf teams.
  • Beaver Creek was the home or repeat state champion Fieldale-Collinsville High School golf team.
